Audio Provisions For The Visually Impaired
Audio Messages: Audio Provisions for the Visually Impaired.
Not everyone reads easily. Audio helps provide easy Bible Study opportunities to people who learn best by listening.
When I was a pastor in Florida, a young retiree and his wife began attending my church. Before retirement he had been a successful business man. After a few weeks attending my church, he came to me and said, “Pastor, I am ashamed to tell you, but I cannot read but with difficulty. You keep saying from the pulpit that we should all be reading daily from the Bible.”
At the time I was taken back by such a confession. It helped to understand that he had dyslexia .After some time of prayer and thought on the matter, I gave this young retiree some audio tapes and a tape player. I suggested that he begin listening on a regular basis. He did this and began to grow spiritually and with knowledge.
Today, we live more in the age of I pods and computers. The computer can be a very visual oriented medium. I would like to introduce two web sites which would be profitable to those who have reading problems.
One web site allows you to listen to the scriptures chapter by chapter. You may also read the words of Scripture as you listen to them. For the link to the Audio Bible Online link you should go to Http://www.CampusPastor.com. This link allows you to do daily reading (listening). It remembers what you listened to (if you always use the same computer). It should be noted that you must use the RealAudio player. One is provided as a free download.
A Second web site provides audio sermons in Mp3 format. This web site also recommends two web radio stations. Go to http://www.GraceBaptistKittanning.com. In the right hand column will be two visual links. The first link is the picture of the Holy Bible with the words Recent Sermons beside the picture. This will take to the web site which orders sermons by months and weeks. The sermons are designed to aid each believer according to current needs. Each sermon is carefully studied and is original.
The second picture is of a radio. This will take you to a link to two web radio stations. The top green one goes to a Bible College station. There are messages and a lot of Biblically designed music. Some of the messages can be very technical but spiritually edifying.
The yellow station indicator leads you to a web radio station which provides a lot of music. This station is more laid back and designed for easy listening. Both stations are Christ honoring.
